We all know the purpose of starting business: Doing your best, be the best version of you and having a better life.
Back in 2014, when me and my boyfriend still starting up the business. He gave me a question that I could not answer at that time.
“When we are doing our best and the business got bigger, we get a lot of money. After that, what will you do? What will we do? What are we looking for?”
At that time, the younger me could not answer that.
I was too selfish and the only thing that I want to do is getting my ambition fulfilled. There is nothing else I could see except doing my best and get more money to get settled down. At that time, I was quitting from my previous business and have no money. I only had less than 1 million in my bank account. The condition was pretty bad for the first month of my quitting, I almost crying and fighting with him every day. I got very emotional. However, even though I was crying and fighting, my hand keep doing the job: designing the website and doing digital marketing for my new small business. There is nothing I could do at that time except surviving and do my best. My ambition is getting bigger and help me go through the storm.
The younger me was full with ambition for her self. She cannot see other people except her and she could not tolerate any kind of mistake. That is why, she cannot answer the question.
During the past 3 years, we went through a lot of things and see things from new point of view. If I got the same questions from him again today, I will be able to answer him firmly.
“When we are doing our best and the business got bigger, we get a lot of money. After that, what will you do? What will we do? What are we looking for?“
My answer will be
“I am looking for a way to leaving my trace of existence in this world by doing great things for others. I am doing this to leave a better future for my children, my friends children and helping people who came to us able to pursue their better future.”
“I am doing this for my legacy in people’s dream”
How? Do I dream too big?
No. There is no dreams that too big.
In the past 3 years, I witness people able to change their life through one opportunity in their presentation. My client from three years ago got promoted after her idea accepted, my other client get extra money for his house renovation after winning a competition. A client from overseas able to gather more money to help student in Ghana get better education. An indonesian student in New Zealand win a presentation competition about his business plan. There are a lot more stories that I cannot tell you about since there is too many.
Just in 3 years, my team able to help a lot of people and change their life into a better one. So, my team and I already leave our trace of existence in their life and it helps them to pursue their better future.
What will happen in the next 10 years? No one knows.
But I believe, there will be more great stories been told. 😉
